Recommended age/grade level: Preschool 3 to third grade, but welcome to all who are interested.

The suncatcher activity includes an up-close examination of leaves and plants. Preschool 3 to kindergarten can particularly use this activity during the fall and spring months, since it provides an in-depth view of changing color leaves and blossoming flowers. 1st and 2nd graders could do the activity during the same seasons, using the suncatcher to help them analyze the importance of chlorophyll and how leaves change in its absence.
